This course covers important information on managing a worker with mental illness. It looks at an employer’s obligations and highlights the need for medical evidence when making reasonable adjustments or accommodations to support a worker with mental illness. This course builds on information introduced in the course Mental Health in Your Workplace.

On completing the course, you should be able to:
Recognize the impact mental illness can have on the workplace
Respond and behave appropriately when a worker has a mental illness
Recognize your obligation to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all workers
Identify the need for medical evidence when assessing a request for reasonable adjustments or accommodations
Identify when reasonable adjustments or accommodations might pose an unjustifiable hardship to your organisation
Protect a worker’s privacy when they have a mental health condition.
